Lucy Haynes Director, CBI East Midlands
Lucy Haynes was appointed director, CBI East Midlands in June 2010. Her role involves running the member relationship function for all CBI members based in the East Midlands, representing the East Midlands business community on key policy issues and ensuring that businesses in the region have a strong voice within the CBI’s campaigns.
Prior to moving to represent CBI in the East Midlands, Lucy was assistant director for CBI London – a role she took up in August 2006. Her achievements in this role included setting up the CBI’s 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games Forum, which enabled CBI members to better understand the business opportunities surrounding the Games.
Before joining the CBI, Lucy worked for three years at London First – a business campaign group, where she lobbied to maintain London’s competitiveness. As project manager, Lucy co-ordinated activity in a number of areas including business tourism, investment in London’s infrastructure such as Crossrail and the Tube; the development of the London Economic Panel; and maximising the business opportunities of London 2012.
Lucy previously worked for nearly three years at the PPA - the trade association for the magazine industry - as marketing executive, and Nissho Iwai Corporation based in London.
She graduated from Leeds University in 1998 and spent a year in Japan on the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) scheme.
