Iain McMillan: Director, CBI Scotland
Following a 23-year career in banking and two years as CBI Scotland Assistant Director, Iain McMillan was appointed director in 1995. He has executive responsibility for the CBI's Scottish operations. Iain leads Scottish business representation and communicates Scottish business interests in Scotland, the UK and beyond.
Iain has also served on a number of boards and is currently chairman of the University of Strathclyde Business School's Advisory Board, chairman of the Industrial Mission Trust, chairman of the Scottish North American Business Council, a trustee of the Teaching Awards Trust and a trustee of The Carnegie Trust for the Universities of Scotland. In 2009, Iain was appointed Honorary Air Commodore of 602 (City of Glasgow) Squadron, Royal Auxiliary Air Force.
Iain was educated at Bearsden Academy and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers; fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland; fellow of the Association of International Accountants; companion of the Chartered Management Institute; fellow of the Royal Society of Arts; and fellow of the Scottish Qualifications Authority. In 2003, Iain was awarded the CBE for services to lifelong learning in Scotland.

David Lonsdale: Assistant Director, CBI Scotland
David Lonsdale has been Assistant Director of CBI Scotland since the start of 2006. Prior to this he worked at the Scottish Chambers of Commerce, rising from Policy Officer to become Head of Policy & Public Affairs.
David’s responsibilities at CBI Scotland involve representing and promoting the interests of member companies to government, policy makers and opinion formers on a wide range of issues affecting industry.
He is a board trustee of Work Place Chaplaincy Scotland, and served as a member of the Church of Scotland’s 2011/12 Commission on the Purposes of Economic Activity and as Chair of the Homes for Scotland 2011 Quality Awards.
