Wales in focus
How has the CBI been lobbying for the interests of its members in Wales?
CBI Wales lobbies on a wide range of devolved issues, from energy to public services. The CBI is the premier voice of industry in Wales, working with the Welsh Government and the Wales Office to grow the economy and create jobs by improving the business environment.
The next five years will be a critical period for the Welsh economy. The Welsh Government must seize this opportunity to put the economy back on track. Only the private sector can increase the country's prosperity, delivering new jobs and new opportunities. Giving the private sector the tools to do the job must be the Welsh Government's top priority.
The largest 0.8% of companies in Wales employ over 40% of the private sector and contribute annually £61bn to Wales' national turnover. These anchor companies have a vital role to play in delivering growth and jobs. The best way to support these businesses was outlined in the CBI's Assembly election manifesto Energising the Welsh Economy: Delivering Growth and Jobs.
