Overview of Conference themes:

Inclusive Workplaces: Business Insight Conference

Great businesses depend on hiring, developing and leading great people from all backgrounds. It’s the right thing to do. But the UK’s changing relationship with the EU post-Brexit, changing labour market make-up and changing skills needs also makes progress towards more inclusive workplaces a commercial imperative. When just one in four businesses are confident that they can access the high-skills their business needs, drawing on the widest talent pool and enabling everyone to be themselves at work is necessary to harness the opportunities from the future of work.  Partnering with the CBI on this event will establish you as a thought-leader in the arena of diversity and inclusion; and will offer the opportunity to shape content and themes alongside the CBI. A link to the 2018 London conference can be found here.

Exporting: Business Insight Conference

As the UK prepares to leave the EU, it is essential for firms to take advantage of opportunities overseas. The EU is overwhelmingly the UK’s most important trading partner but whether it’s trading relationships with Europe or countries further afield, businesses need a focus on competitiveness and a sustainable exporting strategy. This Conference will explore practical steps that will enable firms to expand their international activity, in turn supporting regional and national economic growth. Collaborating with us on this event is a great opportunity for our sponsor to solidify their reputation in driving business growth; showcasing its services and harnessing both our brands to support businesses.

Productivity: Business Insight Conference

The UK’s productivity gap is often cited as a key challenge that businesses need to address in order to drive growth.  Since the financial crisis, UK productivity has lagged behind other developed nations and notably, the UK has fallen behind competitors such as France, Germany and the US. The factors impacting productivity are varied and there are multiple levers from machinery and technology, to supply chain and skills. Our partner for the Conference will have strategic input into the content of this event and will establish themselves as instrumental thought leaders in solving the Productivity puzzle.

Cyber: Business Insight Conference

With cyber-attacks becoming ever more sophisticated, and the subsequent financial and reputational damage that comes from a breach, it’s essential to ensure businesses plan an effective strategy to prepare for and respond to a cyber-attack. As a partner, you will have the opportunity to work with the CBI to develop content and themes for the day, demonstrating significant thought-leadership and expertise in the field of Cyber Security. A link to our 2018 London conference can be found here.

Talent: Business Insight Conference

To attract future talent and drive successful growth, businesses need to create workplaces that will enable and successfully utilise the skills of a radically more diverse workplace, embracing the changing world of work with AI and maximising the capabilities of both. There are a range of dynamics driving today’s conversations around workplaces; from flexible working and social mobility through gender diversity and inclusion to harnessing the talent of workers at both ends of the age and experience spectrum. Businesses need to explore the different ways to identify and source talent and how to create a workforce that enables businesses to thrive. We are open to partners who can offer strategic input into the event, shaping content and showing thought leadership in this crucial area which affects all businesses. A link to our 2018 Northern Ireland Conference can be found here.

Innovation: Business Insight Conference

Innovation is at the heart of economic, social and cultural development.  It drives productivity, raises living standards and helps to lay foundations for tomorrow’s world. Businesses that embrace new products, processes and technologies become more productive, challenge existing business models and grow quickly and therefore business innovation is fundamental to economic prosperity. This is the ideal event for partners who are at the forefront of innovation, and who will have the opportunity to shape content alongside the CBI.A link to our 2018 South West Conference can be found here.

Thought-leadership, reports & surveys

With the largest policy team outside Whitehall, we provide members with a wealth of cross-sector expertise to help their companies grow – from market leading surveys, forecasts and analysis to practical support and advice on policy changes and the issues that impact on business success. In 2019 there will be opportunities for companies to partner with us on reports, surveys, webinars, and thought-leadership on a variety of topics and policy areas. These include:

London Business Survey – Q1 and Q3 2019

The London Business Survey is the CBI’s key economic marker of London business sentiment, and a valuable asset to business, media and key stakeholders. As a barometer of business sentiment in the Capital, the survey findings are crucial in helping to shape our conversations with the Mayor, central government and key London stakeholders and helps us to better understand the key issues for business in the capital.

After successfully running for over a decade, the CBI is now looking for a new partner to bring fresh insight and ideas and to help refresh the survey going forward. This partnership package includes two Surveys throughout the year and provides excellent strategic positioning for your company, reinforcing your position as thought leaders within the continually changing economic landscape in our capital city.

Partnership investment dependant on package, details on request.

Pensions Survey - Q1 2019

The CBI Pensions Survey provides invaluable insight into UK business leaders’ assessment of pensions. Offering perspectives from firms across a broad spectrum of business size and sectors, the diversity and seniority of opinion makes it unique. Having last run the survey in 2015, and within the context of recent policy initiatives and the cost of doing business in the UK, we are now looking to launch a 2019 update.

A partnership would reinforce your position as thought leaders in the pensions arena and offer an opportunity to harness the high-profile nature of both brands to make a relevant contribution to the pensions debate. With a new government in office, now is an opportune moment to reflect upon substantial changes in policy in recent years and establish businesses’ collective priorities for looking ahead.

Practical guide to exporting - Q1 2019

In July, the CBI published its report, “Winning Worldwide”, which detailed a four-step exports growth plan to inform the Government’s Export Strategy. With several recommendations being directly lifted into the strategy, the CBI has been at the forefront of the Department for International Trade’s (DIT) business engagement. As a follow-up, and with the support of the DIT, the CBI is now looking to produce a practical guide for businesses looking to break into overseas markets.
