London Autumn Lunch
The CBI’s hugely successful 2016 London Autumn Lunch saw the newly elected Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, give a keynote address to over 130 senior business leaders warning about the potential dangers of a ‘hard Brexit’ approach from Government. This fantastic event gained high-profile media coverage in City AM, the Evening Standard and the Financial Times, with BBC London and Sky News also broadcasting the event.  The CBI is now keen to build on the success of this lunch and is currently looking for a Partner for the 2017 London Autumn Lunch. Annual Conference, 6th November 2017
A highlight of the UK business calendar attracting a senior level audience of over 1,000 including chairman, chief executives and board level directors from across the business landscape. With c. 300 journalists and broadcasters the event receives significant media coverage across all major channels, including BBC, BBC News, Sky News and Channel 4. Global Growth Conference, 13th November, 2017
Following decades of underperformance, the UK government is refocusing its efforts to grow the number of small and medium-sized businesses exporters, taking advantage of international trading opportunities in markets old and new. To support this effort, the CBI is holding a Global Growth Conference in Newcastle, which aims to bring SMEs together to learn and share practical tips about exporting and growth in international markets. China Sterling Assets Report
The CBI Sterling Assets Reports highlight the positive impact of the strong, sustained history of investment by British business in key international markets and outline the commercial footprint of UK business, through an in depth statistical analysis and expert presentation of the most recent data. Over the years, the CBI Sterling Assets Reports became a key lobbying tool in the UK and is widely circulated and used amongst diplomatic bodies and businesses. Building on the success of our US and India report we’re planning to launch the China Sterling Assets Report in 2017. CFO Roundtables 2017
2016 saw the introduction of our CFO roundtable.  This series, specifically aimed at providing a forum for FDs and CFOs to network and discuss key issues that are impacting their business and to receive high-level insight from CBI and expert partners. Our 2017 activities have bene finalised but keen to work with new partners in 2018, who are looking to build relationships with this audience, whilst demonstrating expertise, brand value and thought-leadership.  Our Partners will work alongside us to shape the agenda around a specific topic and deliver content for this audience of key decision-makers.

Government Affairs 
Throughout the year the CBI will hold a series of informal events for Heads of / Directors of Government Affairs professionals. The events provide an excellent forum for networking and insight for this specific audience.  We are looking for a partner for the series, who is keen to build profile and networks amongst senior Government Affairs audience.

We are also in the early stages of planning for a programme of events built around the 2017 Party Conferences, and are keen to speak to companies who may be interested to work alongside CBI, with opportunities for branding and promoting your organisation in the context of key business policy issues.

Growing London’s Innovative Capabilities
The CBI is undertaking an exciting new project in 2017 which will set out a clear roadmap for R&D investment that will see the UK’s overall investment grow over the next decade. Thames Valley Annual Dinner
Join us for the CBI’s flagship event in the Thames Valley in September 2017 which will bring together senior business leaders from across the region to network, hear the latest insights and entertain clients. The 2016 dinner saw over 230 people join us the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst. Keynote speeches were given by Paul Drechsler, President of the CBI, and Sir Christopher Meyer KCMG, Former British Ambassdor to the US and Germany. Economic Forecast Briefing Series
The CBI’s economics analysis team draws on both our surveys and intelligence from members (operating in the UK and abroad) to produce regular assessments of economic conditions. As part of this we are planning on running two events in 2017 which will see a senior colleague for our economics team provide an update on latest economic developments, and the CBI’s forecasts for growth ahead. The events will provide attendees with the opportunity to gather intelligence, understand what the outlook could mean for their business, ask questions and provide feedback in a supportive, business environment.

Policy Director Roundtable Series
In 2017 the CBI will continue to run its successful Policy Director Roundtable series, which will provide an opportunity for Directors in each of the above policy areas to give an overview of what they are currently working on and how they are interacting with both businesses and the Government to make progress in these areas.
