Overview
The CBI welcomes the direction set in the government skills strategy for a demand-led further education system, where the emphasis is on building local partnerships between employers and providers.
In future, the emphasis must be on freeing up providers so they are able to respond as effectively as possible to local demand. We will continue to work with employers, providers and government to help shape a system that can best deliver the skills our economy needs.
