This invitation only event is for University Vice Chancellors in the East Midlands region.
As we enter 2018 and look at the two major opportunities facing the UK in 2018 – determining our future relationship with the EU and the wider world; and implementing a wide-reaching industrial strategy – no sector has more to offer than our world-class universities.
Whether it’s as anchors within their local communities helping to boost regional skills and growth, at the cutting edge of new teaching and research methods, or in expanding our links abroad, the UK’s higher education sector has a unique place at the heart of these two agendas.
Recognising this, the CBI is looking to hold a high-level dinner bringing together Vice-Chancellors from across the East Midlands region. The event is aimed to ensure attendees benefit from the latest in our political and economic intelligence and provide an opportunity for us to hear your views on the key issues affecting your institution. Attending on behalf of the CBI will be Neil Carberry, Managing Director for People and Infrastructure, Harry Anderson, Higher Education Policy Advisor.
As a starting point, we would like to discuss your views on flexible learning, the Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF) and maintaining access to EU research funding. On top of this, we would welcome any suggestions you have for the agenda. An updated agenda will be circulated in advance of the dinner.
