Sterling Assets: China examines the impact of UK investment by mapping trade and investment flows into China providing useful insights to British and Chinese businesses and policymakers alike.

With more than a decade of experience in China, the CBI is proud to launch its first Sterling assets: China report. This report examines the UK’s impact on the Chinese economy through mapping of investment and trade flows.

In 2016, the UK was China’s second largest trading partner in the European Union (behind only Germany) and the eighth worldwide, doing £55 billion worth of trade in goods with China. Indeed, after the USA and Germany, it is the only country in the list of China’s top nine trading partners not in the Asia Pacific region.
