The Business view on the Prime Minister's Florence speech on Brexit

On 22 September 2017, the Prime Minister made a speech to an audience in Florence, laying out her view for the future economic and security relationship between the UK and the EU, and how it might be achieved. The tone was a positive one, and the flexibility that has been shown by the Government to deliver transitional arrangements is significant. Some progress was also shown on citizens’ rights – but much will be contingent on the negotiations ahead, which must make significant progress rapidly to protect the economy.
