Concerns over draft proposals relating to posted workers
Chief policy director Katja Hall sets out the CBI's main concerns with draft single market proposals
Chief policy director Katja Hall has contacted senior figures in the European Commission, in order to set out the CBI’s main concerns with draft single market proposals aimed at clarifying the right to collective action and ensuring better enforcement of the posted workers directive.
In particular, the move to introduce a novel system of joint and several liability as an enforcement mechanism within the posted workers directive will layer significant costs on firms that look to contract across borders. The CBI hopes that the Commission will listen to the manifold concerns of British and European industry before the final proposals are adopted.
