Policy makers urged to work in partnership with industry to achieve a resource-efficient economy
The recent Environment Council Conclusions are a pleasing response to the Commission’s resource efficiency Roadmap, says CBI
The CBI welcomed the recent Environment Council Conclusions in response to the Commission’s resource efficiency Roadmap, in particular the importance the Council attributes to effective and transparent stakeholder engagement as the Roadmap’s policy proposals take shape.
The CBI has urged policy makers to work in partnership with EU industry since it will ultimately be private capital that delivers the technologies, services and products we need for a future resource-efficient economy.
In December, the CBI published Made to last: creating a resource efficient economy, a report that outlines key steps to ensuring constructive government and industry dialogue on resource efficiency. The CBI will continue to contribute to the debate and we look forward to further dialogue with EU officials in 2012.
