CBI comments on Chris Grayling's speech on the Work Programme
The CBI commented on a speech by the Secretary of State for Work & Pensions, Chris Grayling MP, on the Work Programme.
Matthew Fell, CBI Director for Competitive Markets, said:
“Securing private sector growth and getting the UK working again is a priority, so there is a lot riding on the success of the Work Programme.
“The early signs are promising – against a challenging economic backdrop – with one in four people on the Programme having found jobs.
“The focus now must be building on this with government, local authorities and other partners working effectively with providers to ensure jobseekers receive the wrap-around support they need.”
