With three quarters of the UK's greenhouse gas emissions either directly or indirectly attributable to consumer actions, we cannot ignore the significant influence of the public's purchasing decisions on our ability to hit our 2020 climate change targets.1 Only when business and government properly connect with consumers on this agenda can we create the conditions for a mass market in low-carbon goods and reap the longer-term economic benefits.
