About the CBI Washington office

Situated in the heart of downtown Washington DC, this CBI office provides a base from which the CBI can promote Britain’s business interests to a US audience.

America is the UK’s single biggest business partner. The UK receives around £30billion of imports from the US each year – and the UK exports nearly as much to the US in return. On the investment side, each country is the other’s biggest investor – America holds about 29% of all British FDI, which is a clear 10% more than any other country. Most CBI members have some direct interest in the US, and those that don’t acknowledge the need to know what’s going on in the US economy and political sphere.

The CBI’s Washington Office is dedicated to:

Informing

CBI members of current business and economic trends in the US, and providing an early-warning system on legislation.

Influencing

the US administration on behalf of British business interests.

Facilitating

CBI members in their dealings with the US.

Over the coming months, we will be producing a range of member communications dealing with US issues. For more information, or to make comments or queries, email Rhian Chilcott.
