What we do

CBI and Equality

The CBI’s work on equality and diversity covers all groups protected by national and EU law. These groups are; race, gender, disability, sexual orientation and religion and belief. Discrimination on the grounds of age will be outlawed in 2006.

We advise members on existing legislation and regulation and lobby government on new proposals on equality issues. The CBI is also active in promoting diversity through its publications, conferences and membership of groups that focus on a range of equality topics.

Equality Forum

The CBI’s Equality Forum is open to all CBI members free of charge and meets three times a year to exchange best practice and discuss responses to new government initiatives on equality. Call Nicola Walker on 020 7395 8161 for details.
