Future Leaders programme

Future Leaders is a forum aiming to increase the region's leadership stock through better understanding of how policies affect economic development in the north east, and by providing a network of contacts across all sectors.

Over the next year the group will gain:

An understanding of the institutional and policy frameworks of the region and its position internationally

A voice in strategic regional decision making and to contribute to national CBI policy development

Opportunities outside the work environment to develop/test its skills

New relationships with a network of influencers, shapers and emerging leaders.

Through tours, trips, discussion and debate candidates will explore:

Who makes the decisions that shape the region

How national and European policy affects their business

How the north east can develop and attract the best people

What skills the region needs and how to deliver them

How the north east competes at a global level

Facing the big issues – such as energy and the environment.
