This week the government published a new national plan containing its draft legislative programme for the autumn.
Commitment to further public sector reform and legislation in the areas of equality, digital Britain, energy, finance and bribery will all be acted on by the CBI as will a separate paper on consumers.
Commenting on the government's consumer white paper, CBI deputy director-general John Cridland said: "We welcome some of the measures proposed in the white paper.
"The simplification of the consumer law framework, better consumer education and regulation of online markets are all good things."
