The group will also get exclusive briefings with the latest business and political insights from a range of guest speakers.

We are encouraging CBI members to look within their organisation for their ‘rising star’ who can contribute to and benefit from this experience. This informal network will comprise of 20 future business leaders reflecting the diversity of Scotland’s business sectors and sizes and those chosen will be able to serve a 2-year term.

The Scotland U35 Network stems from a CBI initiative in 2016 setting up a ‘35 under 35’ standing committee in London that gathers the views of young business leaders for CBI’s policy development.  Building on that work, the first year of Scotland U35 will push forward our work around productivity and focus on challenges around management practice and innovation.

The network will be chaired by Ashleigh Cairns of Edrington, the Scottish representative on the CBI’s central U35 committee, who will kindly host the first meeting of the group which features insights from the Strathclyde Business School on their work on productivity and leadership.

Moving forward, as members of the U35 Scotland become more engaged, they will be able to directly shape the agenda and objectives of the network.

Please send your suggestion to mari.tunby@cbi.org.uk no later than 31st March 2018 and Mari will be in touch with them directly.
