CBI Scotland responds to latest Scotland GDP figures from Statistics Scotland
Tracy Black, CBI Scotland Director, has responded to the latest Scotland GDP statistics showing growth of 0.2% for Q3 of 2017
Tracy Black, CBI Scotland Director, said:
“Growth is still worryingly low and there’s little to suggest the Scottish economy is breaking free from the cycle of fragile activity that has plagued it for some time.
“Growth in Scotland continues to run behind the UK as a whole but there are steps we can take to address this persistent challenge. The fundamentals are key and we need a relentless focus on maintaining Scotland’s competitiveness and, as with the rest of the UK, boosting its productivity.
“Partnership between business and all levels of government has never been more important if we’re to build a resilient and prosperous economy that can deliver the sustainable, inclusive growth that will benefit the whole of Scotland.”
