CBI Scotland responds to the latest GDP figures for Scotland
CBI Scotland comments on the latest GDP figures for the Scottish economy.
Tracy Black, CBI Scotland Director, said:
“While the latest data shows signs of slightly firmer growth at the end of last year, the numbers remain weak overall, rounding off another difficult year for Scotland’s economy.
"As a result, focus must be maintained on fixing the fundamentals of the Scottish economy. Pressing ahead with measures to boost productivity will deliver higher wages, better living standards and enhance the potential for longer-term growth.
“Against the backdrop of strong global growth, we also need to do what we can to ensure Scotland maintains its competitive edge. This means that government and business must continue working together to make the case to investors that Scotland remains a great place to live, work and do business.”
