New Government 'must put the economy at the top of the agenda'
CBI Scotland response to the General Election 2017
Hugh Aitken, CBI Scotland Director, said:
“This General Election has come at a critical juncture for the economy in Scotland. Productivity performance lags behind our international competitors and economic growth falls short of that achieved by the rest of the UK. It’s only by bringing Westminster, Holyrood and the business community together that we can begin to meet this challenge head-on.
“Business leaders in Scotland need assurances about stability to give them the confidence to continue investing and creating jobs.
“In the best interests of Scotland’s economy we need a new government which will hit the ground running and come to the table with a clear vision for boosting productivity, supporting growth and promoting future prosperity.”
