Paul Drechsler to stand for 3rd term
The CBI Board and Chairs’ Committee have unanimously nominated Paul Drechsler CBE to stand for re-election as CBI President
The CBI Board and CBI Chairs’ Committee have unanimously nominated Paul Drechsler CBE to stand for re-election as CBI President for a third, one-year term.
All CBI members will now have the opportunity to vote for the next CBI President at its AGM on 6 July.
The CBI previously proposed an amendment to the bye-laws to its Supplemental Royal Charter regarding the number of times a President can stand for election at its AGM. This has been formally approved by the Privy Council.
Carolyn Fairbairn, CBI Director-General, said:
“At this crucial time for our country and economy, Paul’s valuable experience, relationships and knowledge can only bolster the CBI’s influential voice on behalf of British business.
“With Paul’s energy and enthusiasm, I can think of no-one better to champion the need of firms of all sizes and sectors across the UK. I fully support his re-election and many CBI members have expressed their delight that Paul could stay on board for another year.”
