Deputy Chief Economist
Anna is the CBI’s Deputy Chief Economist
Anna heads the economic intelligence team which produces and analyses the CBI’s economic surveys and provides the CBI’s macroeconomic forecast.
She has worked at the CBI since 2008, when she joined as Fiscal Economist working on the CBI’s Budget submissions and public finance analysis. She moved on to head the economic analysis team in 2012, leading on the CBI’s assessment of near-term economic conditions.
Anna previously worked in the Government Economic Service (GES) in various roles at the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), where she worked on UK local area labour markets and international labour markets, and at the Treasury, where she worked on business sector analysis and macroeconomic communications.
While at DWP, she undertook a secondment to the Treasury Select Committee and worked on their inquiry into the private equity industry and their early inquiries at the start of the financial crisis.
