As Parliament entered its summer recess, it was anything but a gentle wind-down in political activity at the CBI. With the lifting of restrictions in England on 19 July, the “pingdemic” has brought significant challenges for many of our members. The CBI has therefore been busy consulting members on how best to build confidence among employers, employees and customers. We’ve been feeding insight into government, highlighting the issues businesses are facing and calling for immediate changes to the rules around self-isolation.
Elsewhere, with the government keen to focus on manifesto pledges such as levelling up the whole on the UK, the CBI has been strengthening relationships with key officials in government and showcasing our Seize the Moment work.
