So it’s over. Thousands of negotiators, politicians, volunteers, NGO representatives and business leaders have packed their bags and waved goodbye to Glasgow. COP26 summit has drawn to a close. The stakes for the conference were incredibly high, following more urgent warnings from the likes of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change on the costs of an overheated world. It was also an important milestone event, being the fifth COP since the seminal Paris Agreement was signed in 2015, requiring countries to come forward with new commitments to limit the rise in global temperatures to 1.5C.

Net zero the norm, but not enough
Ahead of the Summit and in Glasgow we had a steady stream of countries coming forward to announce their net zero targets. USA, Au
