The government has pushed back COVID-19 adjustments to the right to work scheme to 31 August following significant employer pressure.
On 18 June, the government announced that the temporary COVID-19 adjustments to the right to work scheme, which allows employers to check documents and hire staff digitally, will continue. Employers will now be required to conduct physical right to work checks from 1 September 2021.
This delay is welcome because it better aligns employer’s obligations with the government’s reopening roadmap in England. However, the CBI is call
