An Audience with Northern Ireland’s Political Leaders – One Year On

In November 2019, CBI NI brought together leading representatives from the five main political parties ahead of the historic General Election to give members the opportunity to hear their business vision for the year ahead.

From the restoration of devolution in January, to the twin challenges of COVID-19 and the Northern Ireland Protocol, 2020 has been a year like no other. Against that background, we are bringing the five political leaders together again to a virtual stage to both reflect on the past year, and to debate how we navigate through the challenging months ahead.

Chaired by BBC NI’s Economic and Political Editor John Campbell, this online event will provide a unique opportunity for CBI members to hear first-hand what our politicians have achieved in the last 12 months, as well as influence and inform the business agenda going into the new year.

The Panel

  • Alliance Party: Stephen Farry MP (MP for North Down and Alliance Party Deputy Leader)
  • Democratic Unionist Party: Sir Jeffrey Donaldson MP (MP for Lagan Valley and DUP Westminster Leader)
  • Sinn Féin: Chris Hazzard MP (MP for South Down)
  • Social Democratic and Labour Party: Claire Hanna MP (MP for South Belfast)
  • Ulster Unionist Party: Steve Aiken MLA (MLA for South Antrim and UUP Party Leader).

Three reasons why you should attend this event?

  • Hear first-hand the business policy positions on key issues like the UK-EU negotiations and battling COVID-19 of our political leaders going into 2021
  • Enjoy a unique opportunity to hear a debate with all five parties outside of an election cycle
  • Voice your hopes, economic expectations and concerns to the Executive parties.

This event is for CBI members only.
