Shifting the dial on race equality and diversity

With the coronavirus pandemic having heavily impacted the UK business landscape, and disrupting operations worldwide, many companies are still fighting to survive this crisis, whilst thinking about 'what next?'.

A year on from the murder of George Floyd, and the ensuing Black Lives Matter movements around the world, we’re asking how the business community can transition from ‘awareness’ to ‘advocacy’ in order to sustain momentum on improving ethnic diversity and equality in business.

Join Tony Danker (Director-General, CBI), Lord Simon Woolley (Founder, Operation Black Vote and former Chair of the Race Disparity Unit), and Ife Onwuzulike (Head of Diversity and Inclusion, CBI) for an expert discussion on where next for businesses on this agenda, including:

  • What we’ve learnt about race and equality, both throughout the pandemic and more broadly
  • How businesses have stepped up to address shortcomings in their own internal processes
  • The ways firms can take further steps to achieve racial equality in their organisations and supply chains

Participants:

  • Tony Danker, Director-General, CBI
  • Lord Simon Woolley, Founder, Operation Black Vote and former Chair of the Race Disparity Unit
  • Ife Onwuzulike, Head of Diversity and Inclusion, CBI
  • Liz Moseley, Editor and partner, Tortoise Media (chair)
