CBI @10am: Creating an innovation economy

08 December 2021

10:00 - 10:45

How can we strengthen relationships between large corporates and small firms?

Throughout the pandemic, businesses demonstrated incredible ingenuity and rapidly embraced technology and innovation. To meet our aspirations for a high-growth, highly productive economy - this must continue.

The CBI created Big Fish Little Fish to help larger firms (big fish) and smaller firms (little fish) identify the blockers to successful innovation partnerships, and to bring businesses together to try and identify solutions. Through successful partnerships, smaller firms can access infrastructure and expertise to scale quickly, and larger firms can benefit from new ideas, and talent that would be slower and more costly to develop in house.

Join Paul Batterham (Innovation Lead, Kainos), Pippa Begg (Co-Chief Executive Officer, Board Intelligence) and Naomi Weir (Programme Director - Innovation, CBI) for an expert discussion where you will:

  • Gain insight on how firms can tackle the cultural challenges that can hinder innovation partnerships between large firms and start-ups
  • Hear directly from business leaders on how they have successfully developed new products, increased their firm's skills capabilities, or become more productive through working with companies of a different size
  • Learn how the CBI’s drive to improve innovation partnerships delivers on our wider Seize the Moment objective to create an economy that supports breakthrough ideas and the creation of world-leading technology.

Webinar recordings are made available on the same day of broadcast between 16:00 and 17:00. If you have signed up for the webinar, you will be sent a follow-up email with a link to the recording. You can also access all previous recordings on the CBI website.
