Unpacking shortages - behind the headlines

Businesses have gone from lockdown to facing a combination of labour and supply chain shortages, coupled with energy price spikes, that are severely hampering their ability to maximise the resurgence in demand. While the government has an important role to play in creating the conditions for higher wages, skills, and productivity, addressing the immediate challenges is going to require business-led solutions.

That is why this January the CBI is running a mini-series on shortages to help firms understand and tackle issues arising from the current situation.

In the first part of this series, join Matthew Fell (Chief Policy Director, CBI), Jennifer Beckwith (Head of Employment Policy, CBI) and Richard Ballantyne (Chief Executive, British Ports Association) for an expert discussion on:

  • The drivers, impacts and interconnectedness of the current supply chain, labour, and energy shortages
  • Key solutions for firms in the short to medium-term and what the CBI is calling for from the government to support employers
  • Support and resources we have planned to help organisations through this challenging time.

Webinar recordings are made available on the same day of broadcast between 16:00 and 17:00. If you have signed up for the webinar, you will be sent a follow-up email with a link to the recording. You can also access all previous recordings on the CBI website.
