What does the Chancellor's statement mean for business?

Even before the conflict in Ukraine, businesses were facing supply chain challenges, labour shortages and energy price hikes. The past few weeks have further highlighted the urgent need for greater UK economic resilience and immediate measures to support businesses and consumers as they tackle cost of living squeezes.

Following the Chancellor’s Spring Statement on Wednesday 23 March, the CBI will be talking through the announcements and what they mean for business.

Join Rain Newton-Smith (Chief Economist, CBI), Nicole Sykes (Director of Policy and Communications, Pro Bono Economics) and Nigel Pocklington (Chief Executive, Good Energy), for an expert discussion including:

  • A summary of announcements and what they mean for business
  • The latest insights and economic forecasts from the CBI economics team
  • What these policy-decisions mean for the economy in the year ahead.

Webinar recordings are made available on the same day of broadcast between 16:00 and 17:00 and are also available to listen on-demand and on-the-go via Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Deezer, Castbox and Podcatcher. If you have signed up to the webinar, you will be sent a follow-up email with a link to the recording. You can also access all previous recordings on the CBI website.
