What is preventing diversity in the boardroom? How can we accelerate the closure of pay gaps? Our D&I conference on 28 April will help to answer those questions and more.
Despite the accepted business case for diversity and inclusion, and the introduction of gender pay gap regulation, progress has been slow. Too many boards are’ stale, male and pale’, too many payrolls still show disparity in earnings, and in some places, there still seems to be a lack of understanding about how prioritising D&I can improve the growth of businesses.
When there are so many fantastic examples of businesses embracing D&I, why is this not universal?
Join us on 28 April at our biggest ever D&I insights conference to explore the challenges facing business and to root out the reasons for the frustrating stagnation in progress.
09:00 Opening address and interview: Progressing parity
The diversity debate is well trodden and there is a widespread understanding of the huge benefits that equality can bring. However, the action taken hasn’t matched the talk around the subject and it is now paramount that business accelerates the progress on parity. This session will tackle the difficult questions about D&I and will explore the catalysts needed to make D&I a priority across the board.
09:20 Keynote address and Q&A
09:50 Creating a culture of belonging
Inclusive policies can only take us so far - the utopia for D&I is a workforce with a sense of belonging. So how do you instil this in your organisation? In this session, two pairs of interviewees will explore their ideas for creating a culture of belonging and will share the challenges that they have faced along the way.
10:30 Debate: Stirring up the stagnation of pay gap progress
On the surface, it seems that the necessity for equality in pay has been acknowledged but in reality there was below 1% improvement in the gender pay gap last year. Why is it so hard for businesses to close the gap? What more can be done to make real progress? What lessons can be learned from gender pay gap reporting for ethnicity and disability pay gap reporting?
