Jane Portas
Co-founder, Insuring Women’s Futures and Trustee, Centre for Ageing Better

Jane Portas has spent her career in professional services as a Partner at KPMG and until recently PwC, and is a Chartered Accountant with over 30 years’ financial services and business advisory experience.
Throughout her professional career Jane has advised leading insurance businesses to implement strategic regulatory change, risk management and associated business optimisation and compliance programmes. She has also held regulatory policy and supervision roles. Until recently, Jane led PwC’s Brexit services for insurance, customer outcomes and vulnerable customers in financial services and more broadly financial inclusion. In January 2017, Jane was invited to provide expert evidence to the UK Treasury Committee on Solvency II and the options for the UK regime post Brexit.
Insuring Women’s Futures is convened by the Chartered Insurance Institute to improve women’s financial resilience and trust in insurance and personal finance. Alongside being a Co-founder, Jane led its Manifesto Steering Group. She is also the author of financial ‘risks in life’ publications underpinning the programme and 'Living a financially resilient life in the UK', a Market Task Force Manifesto for improving women's and society's financial futures. Its recommendations are being progressed by a number of organisations, including The Money and Pensions Service within the national strategy for financial wellbeing.
