Mark Callender
Head of Real Estate Research, Schroders

Mark joined Schroder Real Estate in 2006 and manages the research team. The team prepares forecasts for Europe’s main property markets and undertakes research into changes in occupier requirements, the impact of new technology, development activity, capital flows and the pricing of property relative to other assets. Mark is responsible for setting the 'top-down' market strategy for a number of funds and is a member of the investment committee.
Prior to Schroders, Mark worked at IPD from 1990 to 2006. He originally joined as a manager in the research team established by Tony Key. Mark went on to become Research Director in 2001 and was responsible for IPD’s European indices and for a number of bespoke research projects.
Prior to IPD, Mark was the Chief Economist at the Housebuilders Federation.
Mark is a frequent speaker at property conferences and is a member of the IPF and SPR.
Mark has a BA in Economics from York University.
