East of England and South West Member Discussion on Hybrid Working

Your monthly opportunity to join other senior executives to discuss and shape the CBI narrative on the issues that most matter to you. Exchange thoughts and ideas in a Chatham House setting chaired by Richard Tunnicliffe (Regional Director, East of England, CBI) and Ben Rhodes (Acting Regional Director, South West, CBI).

As autumn approaches many firms will be implementing their hybrid working plans. This member discussion will focus on how hybrid working may lead to strategic advantages, as firms adjust their long-term business strategies. It will consider the potential impact on customers and client-facing delivery, as well as the opportunities for more inclusive working practices that can attract talent and improve greater productivity.

Learn from other firms about the decisions they’re making to implement hybrid working in their business, and how they plan to evaluate the effectiveness of new working models.

We will be joined by Oliver Baxter from Herman Miller Insight Group, who will demonstrate through case studies how a hybrid working model can be achieved successfully. They will also share insights on the longer-term challenges and opportunities around hybrid working. 

The purpose of this call is to:

  • Discuss how businesses are transitioning to a hybrid working model
  • Enable members to hear from different organisations from within the region and across the UK to help inspire new practices in their own business
  • Provide a platform for B2B learning, allowing members to share and discuss best-practice strategies, and discuss what works well / doesn’t work well
  • Discuss issues that have arisen and how members are managing these.

In the session we would like to explore the following questions with members:

  • What does hybrid work look like in your business?
  • Has it impacted your longer-term business planning?
  • How are you managing the balance between ‘business’ and employees?
  • What have been the main challenges you have faced adopting or implementing hybrid working so far? How have you managed these challenges?
  • What challenges do you anticipate on the horizon?
  • How do you plan to evaluate the effectiveness of a hybrid working model?
