The forum provides the opportunity for members to discuss the role for HE, FE and business in addressing the UK’s reskilling challenge.
The conversation will be chaired by Tracy Black, (Director, CBI Scotland). Tracy will be joined by Nic Trower, (Senior Policy Adviser for Education and Skills, CBI).
This session will focus on the state of adult education and lifelong learning, exploring the latest CBI report on the UK’s reskilling challenge. This report, set for publication on 14 October, reveals fresh evidence on future economic demand for skills, concluding that the UK will need to invest an additional £130bn over the next decade to prevent skills gaps and job shortages. Without bold action, technological change and automation could deepen inequality and result in an ‘unjust transition’ to new ways of working.
This event is open to anyone in CBI membership, including:
• Vice Chancellors, Provosts, and Principals
• Policy leads
• Business and external engagement colleagues
• HR professionals
• Financial directors
