In Discussion with Tania Kumar, Policy Director, Net Zero, CBI
The UK has been a global leader in the race to net zero. It was the first country to establish its target in law and it has cut emissions faster than any other major nation since 1990. It is also home to thousands of committed businesses who recognise the economic opportunities associated with the transition. However, other countries also have eyes on capturing their share of fast-growing green markets and have strengthened the incentives they offer to attract private investment.
With an election approaching, the CBI is seeking to influence political parties to create the conditions that will accelerate the net zero transition and re-establish the UK’s global leadership position in the green economy.
Join CBI members from Yorkshire and the Humber at this roundtable discussion to:
- Hear from Tania Kumar, Policy Director, Net Zero, CBI about the political context for net zero and the CBI’s current priority messages to parties ahead of the election
- Influence the CBI’s narrative and policy positions in the context of shaping political party manifestos
- Engage with other business leaders committed to achieving the UK’s net zero targets.
