North West Cumbria Working Group

CBI Cumbria Group convenes business leaders every quarter to discuss topical issues affecting industry. Insights inform the work of CBI, providing steer on which economic and political topics we should focus our lobbying efforts, to both national and local government.

Through this and other similar meetings across the UK, following the same agendas, CBI gains its mandate to speak as the ‘Voice of Business’.

The group is chaired by David Beeby DL – Vice Chairman of CCL Secure and Chairman of Cumbria Community Foundation – and comprises both CBI members and non-members across a broad range of industries.

Key discussion areas:

  • General Election 2024 – exploring policies and priorities our business community would like to see in party manifestos, which CBI will champion on behalf of industry
  • Economic Update – our regular economic commentary and forecast for CBI’s team of economists
  • State of Trade – roundtable discussion allowing all members to update on market conditions for their business and wider sector

Who should attend?

You will particularly benefit from this event if you are:

  • Chief Executive
  • Managing Director
  • Director of Public/Government Affairs.

If you require further information about the event, please contact Matt.Bratton@cbi.org.uk (Deputy Regional Director, North East and Cumbria).

The event operated under Chatham House Rule.
