HR teams are continually evolving to keep pace with the changing world of work and rising focus on performance and productivity. Join the CBI's Education and Skills Policy Advisor, for shared learning and discussion over dinner.
Nic Trower, CBI Policy Advisor - Education and Skills, will open the discussion with an update on the progress made by the National Retraining Partnership in its ambition to design a retraining scheme for employees vulnerable to automation.
The general discussion will focus on whether the proposed service is a workable model both for the individuals who will access it, as well as employers. Developing this discussion further, the forum will be given a chance to discuss lifelong learning and the importance of upskilling and retraining more broadly. We will consider the following in our discussion:
Does the proposed model provide practical solutions to the challenges of automation?
How does the scheme differ to careers advice and training on offer?
What can the scheme do to compliment the practice of upskilling that businesses already do?
