Investing in the energy transition: hydrogen

Join business leaders, investors, and stakeholders within the low carbon hydrogen sector to discuss how to deliver the government’s ambition and finance the development of hydrogen in the coming decade and beyond.

In light of government strategies including the Net Zero Strategy and British Energy Security Strategy, and external events increasing the need to accelerate the energy transition, the CBI is hosting a roundtable series on financing the technologies necessary to deliver the UK’s net zero ambition.

Why attend?

This breakfast roundtable discussion will focus on how to finance low carbon hydrogen to reach the government’s 10GW by 2030 target. With the business model for hydrogen under development, due to be finalised by the end of 2022, now is the time to discuss what else needs to be done to secure the private investment that will unlock the potential of low carbon hydrogen and support decarbonisation across sectors.

The roundtable, under a Chatham House setting, will be chaired by Tom Thackray, Programme Director of Decarbonisation at the CBI, and we will be joined by key government stakeholders from BEIS and HMT.
