The pandemic has put the health of the nation centre stage, and it has never been clearer that a healthy nation is a key pillar of a strong economy. This global crisis has been a wake-up call for all, however business stepped up, increasing efforts on improving the health and wellbeing of their workforces.
In a collaborative venture with our health partner Business for Health (B4H), the CBI have been engaging with industry to create a Business Framework for Health. The Framework’s core purpose is to measure business contribution to health and promote the role of business in creating a healthier nation - recognising that health is the foundation for wellbeing and economic growth. The index aims to showcase what good business-led health intervention looks like, detailing the benefits to both workforce health and business growth.
In this session, the CBI, Business for Health, and fellow business leaders will take a deeper dive into the progress made with the Business Framework for Health, where you will have the opportunity to feed in your views on the key enablers and barriers to effective business-led health intervention.
You will hear from Matthew Fell (Chief Policy Director, CBI), John Godfrey (Chair, Business for Health) and Damian Green (Chair, APPG for Longevity) on the steps already taken to advance the Framework and how we aim to engage industry and government going forward.
The session will be open to CBI and B4H members and all those interested in the role business can play in improving societal health. If you cannot attend, please feel free to defer this invitation to a suitable senior colleague to join health policy discussions on your behalf.
Meanwhile, the second wave consultation for the Framework will remain open until 14th October to allow as many contributors to participate in the process as possible, available here.
