Partnered with the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) this event will focus on the opportunities presented to business by the Clean Growth Grand Challenge.
It is increasingly important the Industrial Strategy delivers its aim for the UK to remain a top destination for investment, innovation and shared prosperity. Productivity must be driven across the entirety of the UK. The Humber and the Tees Valley have become leaders in Clean Growth presenting a significant opportunity to the region. We can build further upon our strengths by creating new industries and transforming existing industries.
Attend this member consultation on clean growth and you will:
Hear key insights and analysis from Tim Lord, Director for Clean Growth at BEIS on what progress has been made to date, and what developments are coming down the line
Gain expert insight from the CBI’s energy team
Help influence and shape CBI policy, and our Government response
Access up-to-the-minute information.
Make new connections in the local business community who are also tackling this issue.
The government has challenged private enterprise to halve the energy use of new buildings by 2030 and establish the world’s first net-zero carbon industrial cluster by 2040 and at least one low-carbon cluster by 2030. More recently the government has announced that the net-zero target by 2050 will be enshrined in legislation and the Humber LEP’s ambition is to develop the Humber into a net-zero carbon industrial economy by 2040.
Recently, the Tees Valley has been recognised as a world leader in clean growth, following a £170m funding announcement to create a carbon “net-zero” hub of heavy industry.
