SME Member Discussion on the Spending Review and Autumn Budget

HM Treasury has announced the Autumn Budget and the launch of the Comprehensive Spending Review (CSR) will take place on 27 October. The CSR will set out the plan for public spending and how to fund and deliver the government’s priorities for people and businesses over the next three years.

Join us to explore what the Budget and the CSR mean for SMEs and share your insights and feedback, as well as the challenges you envisage moving forward, so we can feed that back to government both in our response to this Budget and CSR, but also at future fiscal events and in our campaigns to support SMEs more generally.

The CBI’s leading policy experts from the CBI Economics and Tax Policy teams will also be on hand to discuss the economic impact of the Budget and CSR and what it means for SMEs generally, and your business day-to-day.

We’ll be asking for your thoughts on:

  • What does the Budget and CSR mean for your business? What challenges do you envisage arising from the Budget/CSR?
  • Insight into investment: what specific policy intervention would unlock business investment? What does government need to do to support SMEs over the next 3 years?
  • What can the CBI do to support SMEs in our response to the Budget and CSR?

  • Charlotte Thomason, Associate Director of SMEs, CBI
  • Louise Hellem, Director of Economic Policy, CBI
  • Katy Recina, Principal Policy Advisor, Economics, CBI
  • Alice Jeffries, Lead Tax Adviser, CBI

These online meetings are an opportunity for you and your peers to share experiences, gain fresh perspectives on common challenges and take away some key insights on the Budget and CSR.

Who should attend?

This WebEx meeting is for CEOs, Finance Directors and C-suite business executives who lead a small or medium size business organisation.
