CBI South West are delighted to bring to you, together with our strategic partner, Womble Bond Dickinson LLP, this exclusive event on the future of UK trade - Europe and the USA.
2021 is an important year for the UK on the global stage as it holds the Presidency of the G7 and will co-host COP26 in Glasgow in November. There is also an opportunity for the UK to reassert its global leadership, with a new UK-EU trading relationship and a new President in the White House.
On the domestic agenda, the government is pursuing a strategy to build back better but must be aware of how this action impacts upon the global competitiveness of UK business. For its part, the CBI will be hosting a B7 Summit, bringing together the business federations of the G7 nations, with the aim of presenting recommendations ahead of the G7 Summit in June.
In the run up to COP26 in November, the CBI will also be showcasing CBI members’ action on climate and their commitment to meet net-zero targets.
Against this backdrop and in the context of setting out the CBI's Economic Vision for the UK, join Sean McGuire (CBI Director for Brussels) and John Dickerman (CBI Head of Group, Washington), who will provide insights on how the UK-EU relationship might evolve with regard to the TCA, what a Biden Administration really means for US foreign and economic policy, as well as UK-US relations, and how all this impacts on business and trade for the UK.
