Join us for our annual Yorkshire and the Humber Westminster Reception and Canapé Lunch, to be held in the Churchill Dining Room in the House of Commons, Palace of Westminster, and kindly sponsored by Barclays.
When we last convened in January 2020, it was difficult to imagine the impact that the coronavirus pandemic was going to have on both the businesses in our region and the wider communities in which they operate. In the past 20 months we’ve seen some great examples of innovation, collaboration and co-operation from the business community, and as we begin to emerge from the pandemic there is a strong desire to be more sustainable and more resilient, as well as to ensure that our region can start to thrive once again.
This event – reserved only for guests of the CBI and Barclays – provides a unique opportunity for you to highlight the priorities for your business on skills, business investment, innovation, sustainability and devolution directly to the political representatives of the region.
The reception will begin with informal networking with Yorkshire and the Humber MPs before moving to a Question Time style panel discussion with members from the government and opposition. We are delighted that Rachel Reeves (Shadow Chancellor and Labour MP for Leeds West) will be our host and will be joined on the panel by Kevin Hollinrake (Conservative MP for Thirsk and Malton), and other parliamentary colleagues whom we will confirm in due course.
It is a real opportunity for the business community of Yorkshire and the Humber to give all political parties a clear steer on your priorities.
Due to a strict House of Commons security policy and limited attendance capacity, we encourage you to confirm your attendance as soon as possible. Please book your place now. Should places be full, we will operate a waiting list.
We look forward to seeing you at this interesting and insightful event.
