The UK will lose its place as a world leading Health and Life Sciences destination if revenues continue to fall short of international competition - as they have over the last decade. We are calling on the government to deliver on its ambitious plans to support the sector’s prosperity and global competitiveness to enable the UK to achieve its world leading potential.
Throughout the pandemic huge demands were placed on innovative research, front line support and agile manufacturing to support the NHS. To capitalise on the gains and leadership demonstrated by the Health and Life Sciences sector throughout, we are calling on the government to take a new and strategic approach to support, learning from the public and private sectors, to address the health challenges of the next decade.

With strong growth of around 5% expected per year through 2030, these sectors could be major drivers of UK economic success. And the top 25 pharma companies, as well as the top 30 medtech companies, all already operate in the UK.
