The CBI commented on the announcement that Donald Tusk is to be appointed the new European Council President.
Katja Hall, CBI Deputy Director-General, said:
“Donald Tusk has the experience and know-how to hold the Commission’s feet to the fire on its jobs and growth agenda, to help spur a stronger European recovery.
“There is genuine concern that the EU has over-reached itself in some areas, so the new Council President must ensure that Europe concentrates more on what it does well – like signing more trade deals and completing the Single Market - and less on what is better done at national leve
