CBI Insights: Scottish Lobbying Act

In this podcast CBI Campaigns Adviser, Hannah Collins is joined by Dougie Wands, the Lobbying Registrar, Andrew Henderson the Director of Public Policy at Pinsent Masons and Chris Kelly the CBI’s Governance Manager to analyse what the Scottish Lobbying Act means for business.

The Scottish Lobbying Act comes into force on 12 March 2018 and will require any person or organisation that engages in ‘regulated lobbying’ with Scottish Ministers, MSPs, Scottish Government Special Advisers or the Scottish Government Permanent Secretary to record their engagement in an online register maintained by the Scottish Parliament.

In the run-up to the Act coming into force, the CBI has created this helpful one-pager, the Lobbying Registrar’s team has produced a 5-step guide to help businesses establish whether or not what they are doing falls under the terms of the Act and Pinsent Masons have created a what you need to know document.
