Mohammad Jamei
Director of Economic Policy
Mohammad Jamei is the CBI’s Director of Economic Policy, bringing over 14 years of expertise in economics. At the CBI, Mohammad leads a dedicated team focused on shaping UK economic policy, including tax and regulatory frameworks, to enhance business competitiveness.
Prior to his current role, he was instrumental in setting up CBI Economics as its founding Director, overseeing its operations and guiding significant growth through impactful policy and economic research projects. Before joining the CBI, he was an economic consultant at PwC, leading significant projects such as assessing the economic impact of the UK hosting COP26 and supporting economic and fiscal policy reforms in several Middle Eastern and Central Asian countries.
Mohammad began his career at HM Treasury, subsequently holding the role of Senior Economist at UK Finance, where he contributed extensively to financial sector analysis and policy development. His wide-ranging experience continues to inform and strengthen economic policymaking for UK businesses.
