Tania Kumar

Tania Kumar is the Energy Transition Policy Director at the Confederation of British Industry, leading the CBI’s work on energy and climate policy. She directs strategy and campaigns across the energy transition, built environment, transport decarbonisation, climate and trade, and business net zero pathways.
Since joining the CBI, Tania has shaped cross-cutting responses to energy crises, helped secure support for households and businesses, and championed the role of UK industry in delivering emissions reductions. She has been closely involved in policy development for emerging low‑carbon technologies including electric vehicles, heat pumps and sustainable aviation fuels. Tania is also a committed advocate for equality, diversity and inclusion. She serves as a UK Ambassador for the Clean Energy Ministerial’s Equal by 30 campaign, promoting gender equity in the energy sector. She holds a Master’s degree in International Public Policy from University College London.
