The G20 Summit will be taking place from 22 to 23 November in Johannesburg, South Africa - marking the first ever G20 held on the African continent. As a member of the B20, the official G20 dialogue forum for business, the CBI is proud to have contributed to this year's B20 recommendations and strongly supports B20 South Africa's theme of 'inclusive growth and prosperity through global cooperation'.
Compiled by eight taskforces, 30 recommendations have been presented ahead of the G20 Summit. These recommendations are guided by a commitment to unlock inclusive growth, investing in human capital, driving industry reforms, and strengthening the role of women and SMEs in business.

Digital transformation
- Expand inclusive modern digital infrastructure and connectivity to deliver affordable and reliable access to digital services.
- Advance secure, trustworthy, inclusive and human-centric AI grounded in ethical standards, regulatory clarity and transparent practices.
Energy mix
- Mobilise sustainable energy transition finance at the scale and speed needed for a just and inclusive global energy transition.
- Accelerate industrialisation across the energy value chain to promote a just energy transition through skills development, supply chain resilience, and global market access.
Trade and investment
- Promote stability in global trade and improved market access through de-escalation of recent trade actions and pragmatic reform.
- Create a new Trade and Investment Deal for Africa.
- Build a climate-responsive system for international trade and investment.
Finance and infrastructure
- Support the expansion of investable infrastructure projects.
- Improve access to capital by increasing the availability, effectiveness and resilience of public, private and philanthropic investment.
- Enhance the flow of funds between investors, infrastructure projects and the wider economy.
